1976 BMW 2002 conversion with 1989 M3 S14 engine. VIN 2744236. All the handling and character of the ’02 with the power of the legendary S14 engine! This bullet-proof, clean burning engine is extremely reliable and nearly doubles the horsepower of the original ’02 engine. The conversion was performed by members of the infamous Skidmark Racing Team (see www.skidmarkracing.net  for examples of their high quality cars) in 1999. The S14 engine had approximately 60k miles on it at the time of the conversion and I’ve added 10k mi since I bought it in August 2003.

The Good: No rust. 320i 5 speed overdrive Getrag 245 transmission. Short shift kit from Ireland Engineering. 320i 390 limited slip differential 320i front brake hubs & rotors, Volvo 240i calipers. Stock drums in rear. 320i Recaro seats with sheepskin covers. New paint & nose clip in 1998. Bilstein sport shocks. Stage II springs and sway bars from Ireland Engineering. Urethane bushings and motor mounts. Behr AC with new Sanden compressor. 15” Panasport racing rims with Kumho Ecsta 712’s. Rebuilt heater box and new blower motor. Gas tank cleaned and sealed with POR-15.
